STANWOOD — Get more book for your buck at the Stanwood-Camano Friends of the Library book sale next week.
The public is invited to show up for the sale at the library in downtown Stanwood from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 15. Hardbacks and paperbacks cost $1 or less. Titles are sorted by subject and genre to make it easier to head straight to romance novels, children’s books or other sections.
“A lot of our customers have commented that, ‘Wow, you’re organized,’” said Nancy Henton, chairwoman of the book sale. “People can readily see when they come in if they’re looking for something specific.”
The spring sale is the primary fundraising event for the Stanwood Library. Members of the community donated the books during the past year.
Proceeds go to educational programs and other resources for the Stanwood Library. Past sales have helped pay for summer reading programs for children and a new copy machine, Henton said.
Hardbacks and trade paperbacks cost $1, pocket paperbacks 50 cents.
“We have a very good selection of children’s books,” Henton said.
Those cost from 10 cents to $1.
There’s also a section of collectible titles.
A book presale is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. May 14 for members of the Stanwood-Camano Friends of the Library. Anybody can purchase a membership at the door. It costs $1 for a senior citizen, $5 for an individual and $10 for a family.
Donated books for the sale can be dropped off at the Stanwood Library at 9701 271st St. NW any time between Monday and May 15.
