Two people were displaced after a kitchen fire Wednesday morning damaged their home.
Firefighters were called shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday after a neighbor heard the smoke alarm, Snohomish County Fire District 7 Batallion Chief Janet Jaeger said.
The fire happened in the 1870 block of 35 Drive SE in unincorporated Snohomish County.
Jaeger said nobody was home at the time of the fire and nobody was injured.
She said the cost of damage is currently unknown and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which was confined to the kitchen, but the smoke damaged the entire house, Jaeger said.
She said the local chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting homeowners.
