Man shot in the leg near Lake Stevens

LAKE STEVENS — A shooting north of Lake Stevens left a man with a gunshot wound to the leg Wednesday night.
A witness called 911 to report the 53-year-old man had been shot in the 8500 block of 115th Avenue NE, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The shooter reportedly fled in a vehicle. Deputies haven’t been able to identify a suspect.
The wounded man was taken to an Everett hospital. His injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.
Circumstances leading up to the shooting remained unclear Thursday, as the injured man provided little information to deputies, said Shari Ireton, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. A .380-caliber shell casing was recovered as evidence.
