RICHLAND — Police in Richland say they used a stun gun on a man who was trying to rob a bank while armed with a wrench.
Capt. Mike Cobb says officers responded Monday to a report of a man waving a large wrench above his head and demanding money from tellers at a Chase Bank branch.
They found the man still inside the bank, zapped him and arrested him.
Cobb tells The Tri-City Herald that 30-year-old man was taken first to a hospital, then booked into the Benton County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery.
No one in the bank was injured.
