E-W earns top seed

EVERETT – Edmonds-Woodway claimed the Wesco South No.1 seed Friday with a 21-2 victory over Mariner at Goddard Stadium.
In a matchup of two teams going opposite directions, it was the streaking Warriors, winners of four straight, who used defense to claim the division’s top spot.
Stewart Schaefer returned an interception 70 yards for a TD and Andrew Prebezac (21 tackles) and Jeff Ball (10 tackles, six for loss) helped hold Mariner’s offense in check.
Losers of four straight, Mariner was held to 14 yards passing and 130 total yards.
