GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Officials say there were no apparent serious injuries after a crash at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks took out nearly 30 feet of the grandstand fence and sent debris flying into the crowd of 3,000 people.
The Friday night crash happened at the start of a sprint heat race. It delayed the racing for nearly an hour.
Bob Martin’s car went airborne and was destroyed. The East Grand Forks, Minn., driver says he’s lucky the fence stopped him. He rolled out another car and raced in the next heat.
