Archbishop Murphy 20, Burlington-Edison 7

BURLINGTON — The Wildcats moved a game above .500 with a league victory over the Tigers.

After a winless 2022 campaign, Archbishop Murphy (5-4 overall, 4-3 Northwest 2A) can clinch a winning 2023 season with another victory next week.

Burlington-Edison dropped to 0-8 overall and 0-6 in league play.

Non-league

Mount Vernon 52, Lynnwood 12

MOUNT VERNON — The Bulldogs topped the Royals in a non-league contest. Mount Vernon improved to 3-6, while Lynnwood dropped to 0-9.

Wes-King 4A Bi-District Tournament

Quarterfinals

Issaquah 2, Lake Stevens 0

ISSAQUAH — The fourth-seeded Eagles topped the fifth-seeded Vikings to advance to the semifinals of the 4A Wes-King bi-district tournament.

Issaquah (7-4-2) will travel to face top-seeded Skyline in a winner-to-state game 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Lake Stevens (10-3-0) will host eighth-seeded Jackson in a loser-out consolation game 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Consolation first round (loser out)

Jackson 1, North Creek 0

EVERETT — The eight-seeded Timberwolves shut out the ninth-seeded Jaguars in a loser-out consolation game in the 4A-Wes-King bi-district tournament.

Jackson (9-6-2) advances to face fifth-seeded in a loser-out road game 7 p.m. Tuesday.

North Creek finished it season at 8-5-1.

3A District 1 Tournament

First round (loser out)

Everett 7, Monroe 2

EVERETT — The fifth-seeded Seagulls unleashed a season-high seven goals on the 12th-seeded Bearcats to advance to the quarterfinals of the 3A District 1 tournament.

Everett (9-7-1) will face fourth-seeded Mountlake Terrace at 1 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds Stadium.

Monroe finished the season at 5-10-1.

Meadowdale 2, Edmonds-Woodway 1

EDMONDS — Rachel Reitz scored the go-ahead goal in the 76th minute and the 10th-seeded Mavericks knocked off the seventh-seeded Warriors to advance to quarterfinals of the 3A District 1 tournament.

Hazel Maxwell scored the opening goal for Meadowdale (8-7-2). The Mavericks will face second-seeded Shorecrest at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shoreline Stadium.

Abby Peterson scored the lone goal for Edmonds-Woodway, which ends it season at 7-8-2.

Snohomish 2, Stanwood 0

SNOHOMISH — The eighth-seeded Panthers blanked the ninth-seeded Spartans to advance to the quarterfinals of the 3A District 1 tournament.

Snohomish (9-6-2) will face top-seeded Shorewood at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shoreline Stadium.

Stanwood finished its season at 7-8-2.

Oak Harbor 1, Arlington 0

OAK HARBOR — The sixth-seeded Wildcats shut out the 11th-seeded Eagles to advance to the quarterfinals of the 3A District 1 tournament.

Oak Harbor (10-5-1) will face third-seeded Ferndale in a road game 1 p.m. Saturday.

Arlington finished its season at 7-6-4.

Archbishop Murphy 2, Lynden 1 (2OT)

EVERETT — Kylie Hendry scored the game-winner in double overtime and the fourth-seeded Wildcats edged the fifth-seeded Lions to advance to the semifinals of the 2A District 1 tournament.

Archbishop Murphy (12-4-1) will face the winner eighth-seeded Sedro-Woolley vs. top-seeded Sehome in a winner-to-state game Saturday. The higher seed will host.

Lynden (10-4-3) will face the loser of the Sedro-Woolley vs. Sehome matchup in loser-out consolation bracket game Saturday. The higher seed will host.

Cedarcrest 1, Anacortes 0

DUVALL — Sadie Schaefer scored a first-half goal off an assist from Laine McKenzie and the third-seeded Red Wolves blanked the sixth-seeded Seahawks and advanced to the semifinals of the 2A District 1 tournament.

Joey Ward and Sierra Carlson combined on the shutout for Cedarcrest (12-4-1). The Red Wolves will travel to face second-seeded Bellingham in a winner-to-state game 2 p.m. Saturday at Civic Stadium.

Anacortes (10-6-1) will host seventh-seeded Burlington-Edison in a loser-out consolation bracket game 2 p.m. Saturday.

Emerald Sound Conference Tournament

First round (loser out)

Eastside Prep 3, Granite Falls 1

BELLEVUE — The sixth-seeded Eagles beat the ninth-seeded Tigers to advance to the quarterfinals of the Emerald Sound Conference tournament.

Eastside Prep (6-5-2) will face third-seeded Seattle Academy in a loser-out game 6 p.m. Saturday at Starfire Sports Stadium.

Granite Falls finished its season at 6-10-0.

King’s 3, Overlake 0

SHORELINE — The seventh-seeded Knights shut out the eighth-seeded Owls to advance to the quarterfinals of the Emerald Sound Conference tournament.

King’s (6-5-3) will travel to face second-seeded Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) in a loser-out game 4 p.m. Saturday.

Overlake finished its season at 3-11-2.

Lake Stevens 3, Glacier Peak 0

LAKE STEVENS — The Vikings clinched the Wesco 4A title with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-17 sweep of the Grizzlies.

Laura Eichert recorded 19 kills, nine aces, eight digs and two blocks, Katelyn Eichert 30 assists, six kills and two blocks, and Alyss Kelly 10 digs for Lake Stevens (12-4 overall, 7-0 Wesco 4A).

Tessa Mossburg had 16 digs, Lucy Cornelius 10 assists and Hanna Ligons and Claire Sedenquist added five kills apiece for Glacier Peak (12-4, 6-2).

Jackson 3, Kamiak 2

MUKILTEO — Addison Eastwood dished out 43 assists to go with 13 digs and five aces, Ravenna Coleman added 19 kills and 16 digs, and the Timberwolves edged the Knights 26-24, 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Ava Warden chipped in 16 kills and Taylor Johnson 17 digs for Jackson (9-6 overall, 4-3 Wesco 4A).

Kamiak fell to 6-9 overall and 1-6 in league.

Wesco 3A/2A

Meadowdale 3, Snohomish 1

SNOHOMISH — Violet Dubois led a balanced attack with 10 kills and the Mavericks secured a 13-25, 25-16, 26-24, 26-24 win over the Panthers.

Ja’elle Jenkins had nine kills, Jackie Tang seven and Mia Johns six for Meadowdale (12-5 overall, 12-3 Wesco 3A/2A). Sofia Brockmeyer added 10 digs, Dubois eight digs and Laiken Thoesen 27 assists.

Kelsey Nichols had 11 kills, six aces and 17 digs, Keira Beverford added 11 kills of her own, and Maggie Cavanaugh had 31 assists for Snohomish, which dropped to 7-8 overall and 7-7 in league.

Edmonds-Woodway 3, Cascade 1

EDMONDS — Sydney Petelle stuffed the stat sheet with 32 assists, six digs, four aces, three kills and two blocks as the Warriors beat the Bruins 25-9, 24-26, 25-18, 25-12.

Ava McGinnes had six kills, two blocks, two digs and two aces, Kate McCarthy five kills and five digs, and Ruby Lanfeldt 16 digs and two aces for Edmonds-Woodway (8-8 overall, 6-8 Wesco 3A/2A).

Sally Sylla posted seven kills and two blocks, Suleyka Uriostegui 23 assists, seven digs and three kills, and Kiana Volkmann 13 digs for Cascade (2-14, 1-13).

Stanwood 3, Marysville Pilchuck 1

MARYSVILLE — Harper Neyes had 21 digs, 15 kills and five aces as the Spartans earned a 25-22, 18-25, 25-14, 25-22 win over the Tomahawks.

Whitney Longspaugh added 13 kills and seven digs and Eliot McDonald 17 assists and 11 digs for Stanwood (7-8 overall, 7-7 Wesco 3A/2A).

Aideen Bobadilla posted 33 digs and four aces, Darina Glassburn 20 assists and seven digs, and Rebekah Carter 17 kills and nine digs for Marysville Pilchuck (6-9, 6-9).

DARRINGTON — Claire Wright delivered 19 digs, 13 kills and six aces as the third-seeded Loggers swept the sixth-seeded Highlanders to advance to the semifinals of the 1B District 1 tournament.

Allie Cochran chipped in 20 digs and three kills and Ciela Dewberry 26 assists for Darrington (11-6), will face second-seeded Fellowship Christian in a winner-to-tri-districts game noon Saturday at Mount Vernon Christian High School.

Providence Classical Christian (12-7) will face seventh-seeded Grace Academy in a loser-out game 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Vernon Christian.
