Kamiak 12, Snohomish 3

SNOHOMISH — Emma Stansfield’s and Tyler Karabach’s strong days from the plate powered Kamiak to a 2-1 start to the season. Stansfield went 4-for-5, batted in four runs, stole a base in the first and scored four runs herself while Karabach homered in the fourth to bring Stansfield home on a two-run shot. Pitcher Synclair Mawudeku had a solid outing for the Kamiak defense, allowing five hits to five strikeouts in a 97-pitch day. Hannah Siegler (3-for-4, one run) had most of Snohomish’s five hits as the Panthers (3-1) picked up their first loss.
