OAK HARBOR — Alyssa Reuble got it all to work on one night.

The Meadowdale junior pitched a no-hitter in a 5-0 win over Oak Harbor on Wednesday in a Wesco 3A softball game.

Reuble struck out 11 and walked none and only a Mavericks’ error prevented her from pitching a perfect game.

“She was just dominant on the mound all game long,” Meadowdale coach Dennis Hopkins said.

Reuble has flirted with a no-hitter before, but Hopkins said this was the first of her career.

“She was really getting her changeup to fly in there,” Hopkins said. “She painted the plate. Wherever she wanted to put the ball it went tonight.”

Reuble was helped by 12 hits offensively, led by Shannon Haukup and Lindsey Milner, who both finished 3-for-4. Only one Mavericks batter struck out in the game.

“We just played base-to-base ball,” Hopkins said. ‘If you keep hitting the ball good things finally happen.”

But the story of the game was Reuble and her near perfect night.

“She’s finally getting it where she wants it,” Hopkins said. “She’s a great pitcher. This is one of her standout nights, but she has had some great games.”
