Safety goggles on! Facebook engineers have stocked a workshop with industrial tools to work on gadgets, including virtual-reality headsets and drones that will deliver the internet to remote areas.
But CEO Mark Zukerberg promised that the social network won’t ignore its core duty to its customers: rejiggering Facebook’s news feed every few weeks to upset users.
Scratching an itch: Insect-repellent companies are advertising their products to take advantage of the concerns over the Zika virus, which is carried by some mosquitoes. “We don’t want to scare customers,” said one company spokeswoman. “We want to empower them.”
They don’t need to scare customers; that job’s already well handled by the cable news networks.
Ryan’s hope: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has angered some in his own party by delaying an endorsement of House Speaker Paul Ryan in his re-election bid, saying he’s “not quite there yet.”
“You know what?” Ryan said, reviewing the events of Trump’s last week. “Take your time.”
