The Brothers Grimm fairy tale “The Shoemaker and the Elves” comes to life this weekend when the Tears of Joy Theatre group performs the story as part of the Shoreline–Lake Forest Park Children’s Series.

This adaptation of the folk tale sparkles with wit and humor as two elves come to the rescue of shoemaker Mel Footmeyer and his wife, Tootsie.

Each night the elves create more shoes — and soon everyone wants a pair. The play is performed with puppets.

“The Shoemaker and the Elves” begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shoreline College Campus Theater, 16101 Greenwood Ave. N., Building 1600, Shoreline.

Tickets are $6, available online at www.shorelinearts.net/child_theatreseries.html. Call 206-417-4645 for special seating needs.
