Fly fishing show coming to Lynnwood

The Fly Fishing Show is at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW, on Feb. 13 and 14.

There will be a range of fly fishing events all weekend including casting demonstrations, seminars, fly-tying and book signings. Tackle and gear, targeted specifically for Washington, Oregon and British Columbia anglers, will be available for sale. The event also includes the Fly Fishing Film Festival.

Admission is $15 for a single day, $25 for both days. Kids under 5 free. Film festival admission is $15 or $10 with admission to the show. Get details at http://flyfishingshow.com/lynnwood-wa.

Salmon: Learn about the salmon and trout of the Skagit River at 1 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretive Center. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m Saturdays and Sundays through the end of the month. Snow Ball: Enjoy dinner and live auctions while supporting the Northwest Avalanche Center. The Snow Ball is 6 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Seattle Design Center, 5701 Sixth Ave. S., Seattle. Get details and tickets, $100, at www.nwac.us.

Winter fun: The Winter Wildlands Alliance’s Backcountry Film Festival is at 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at The Mountaineers Program Center, 7700 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle. See films celebrating the joy of human-powered winter sports in the backcountry. Get more info at bit.ly/22LTqxo.

Vertfest: Improve your winter backcountry skills at Vertfest Feb. 13 and 14 at Alpental at Snoqualmie Pass. There will be racing, clinics, gear demos and more. Get details at www.nwac.us/vertfest.
