Royal dog at Everett Animal Shelter ready for permanent palace
Duchess is a very intelligent girl. She knows many commands and walks on a leash well. She gets along with some more submissive smaller dogs. She will need a meet and greet with any resident canine prior to adoption and to continue the slow proper introductions once she gets to her new home. She loves to cuddle, go for hikes and play with toys. She is not suited for apartment living. Duchess has separation anxiety and she will need a home that is ready to manage this issue. She is not crate trained so until the separation anxiety is better managed she will need a home where her people are home constantly. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)

The Everett Animal Shelter hosts thousands of stray and unwanted animals every year. Some are adopted right away, but some sit in the shelter for weeks at a time, waiting for a home. The shelter has dogs and cats, as well as some rabbits and birds, all looking for a loving home.

All pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given a identifying microchip before they are adopted. Take a look at some of the dogs, cats and other animals that are available for adoption at the shelter now. Here is the previous post featuring animals up for adoption.

If you’re interested in adopting an animal, the shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 425-257-6000.
