Snohomish High School students on May 10 assembled more than 150,000 meals for a Fight Against Hunger event, organized through San Diego-based nonprofit Friends and Family Community Connection and Snohomish-based Dream Dinners’ Living the Dream Foundation.

Of the meals, 50,000 went to the Snohomish Community Food Bank, along with $10,000 in donations. The rest of the meals are headed to Haiti. Over 1,300 volunteers took part.

Meanwhile, the annual U.S. Postal Service Letter Carrier Drive brought in 19,256 pounds of food and $25,000 in donations for the Snohomish Community Food Bank alone. Volunteers celebrated with an elaborate mailbox cake.
