SEATTLE — Former King County Assessor Scott Noble has been sentenced to eight months in jail for pleading guilty to vehicular assault.
In January, Noble was arrested after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 that injured two women in another car. Court documents say Noble’s blood alcohol levels were three times higher than the limit. The 58-year-old man pleaded guilty in May and resigned from his post Thursday.
King County Superior Court Judge Michael Fox allowed Noble to serve his time under work release, meaning he’ll be able to leave jail during the day to work, but will return at night. He will also serve one year of probation.
The Seattle Times reports Noble cried during most of the hearing Friday and apologized for hurting the women.
An interim assessor will be named by the King County Council next month.
