The Everett Animal Shelter hosts thousands of stray and unwanted animals every year. Some are adopted right away, but some sit in the shelter for weeks at a time, waiting for a home. The shelter has dogs and cats, as well as some rabbits and birds, all looking for a loving home.
All pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given a identifying microchip before they are adopted. Take a look at some of the dogs, cats and other animals that are available for adoption at the shelter now. Here is the previous post featuring animals up for adoption.
If you’re interested in adopting an animal, the shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 425-257-6000.
Bear is a somewhat bossy little pug mix! He will need an adult home and a meet and greet with any resident dogs. Bear loves going for walks and would enjoy lots of daily activities as he is quite active. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
Bumble is a handsome and easy-going fellow that came to us as a stray with trauma to his eye. He has been a champ for his treatments and his injury is all healed up. He will have some scarring and vision loss in that eye, but it doesn’t slow him down at all. All of our Rabbits come spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. Come check out Bumble – he is a cool bun with a cool hairdo! (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
Claudia is a very sweet senior dog looking for a mature home that will pamper her. She has had recent blood-work, has been spayed and is being treated for a skin infection. She will need a meet and greet with any resident dogs and may do OK with cats after proper introductions. Her new family will need to be financially secure and able to take Claudia to the vet on a regular basis. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
Meet Duke! This special boy had a rough start, but he is looking for someone who knows that TLC and elbow grease can pay off. Duke spent the beginning of his life in a less than ideal situation where he was tethered to a tree most of the time and this is damaging to dogs as most know. He has separation anxiety from this so an adopter should be aware so they can burn off steam each day with him (running, jogging, working dog tasks) and also have a bottom and top secure enclosure. It will be worth it because Duke is an absolute love bug and he will be your best friend – attached to the hip. His favorite thing in the entire world is to play fetch – Duke LOVES his ball! He also enjoys tug-o-war and getting lots of belly rubs. This boy is not suitable for apartment living as he needs a lot of exercise and a large SECURE fenced yard. His new ideal home would be adult-only, calm, confident, structured, and ready to incorporate a bit of training. No cats, small dogs, or male dogs for Duke. Come meet this handsome boy today! Gets is a handsome older but gentle gentleman. He is looking for a home who will spoil him rotten. He will need slow introduction to any resident pets or small kids. (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
Marshall is a lively little Schnauzer! He arrived at the shelter in rough shape but is improving everyday. We expect his hair will all grow back and he will be very handsome. Marshall is bossy with other dogs and will need a meet and greet with any resident canines. He may need a refresher course on house-training and we are not sure how he will do with kitties. Marshall’s new family will need to be financially secure enough to take him in for regular vet visits. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
Purrcey is a sweet little cat looking for a new home. She is missing some teeth so will need to have some canned food in her diet. Come meet this really nice cat today! (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
Spike is an active little min pin looking for a new home. He has not lived with other dogs so will need a meet and greet with any resident canines. He does not like to be picked up but loves sitting in laps. This fun little guy loves going for walks and car rides. Any children in the home need to be over the age of 12 years and used to small breed dogs. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
Starfire is shy and independent gal. She has been around other cats and small dogs BUT will still need a slow introduction to any resident pets and small kids. (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
