Sometimes an outgoing, friendly personality like Bartholomew’s can lead you astray. He was allowed outside and must have made friends with someone far from home because he got lost. Bartholomew will do well in a home where he has someone to interact with him frequently. He seems to get along with other calm cats and he’d sure enjoy meeting you! The Everett Animal Shelter hosts thousands of stray and unwanted animals every year. Some are adopted right away, but some sit in the shelter for weeks at a time, waiting for a home. The shelter has dogs and cats, as well as some rabbits and birds, all looking for a loving home.
All pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given a identifying microchip before they are adopted. Take a look at some of the dogs, cats and other animals that are available for adoption at the shelter now. Here is the previous post featuring animals up for adoption.
If you’re interested in adopting an animal, the shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 425-257-6000.

Boots is a shy cat in till she get to know you. She will need a home that will give her time to settle in to her new routine. She would really like a quiet, mellow home in her golden years. Dill is quite the dreamboat with those blue eyes and handsome markings. And he’s the most lovable lap cat ever! Dill came to us with a large wound on his side which has taken several weeks to heal. He has been enjoying being an office cat during that time and never misses an opportunity to sit in a lap. He is very loving with his purring, rubbing, and kneading. And despite being an older gentleman, he will definitely get sparks of energy and will gladly chase or roll around with toys. He likes other cats, but we do not know if he has lived with dogs, so a slow introduction is recommended. Dill has it all, personality and looks, so come meet him today! Penny is shy but still friendly. She loves soft blankets and will sleep in them. She enjoys hanging out where it high (a nice cat tree or two would be nice). She enjoys all kinds of toys, which can help her over her shyness. She is very gentle when there are no other cats around (no other cats in the home). (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
Ruby was left behind when her owners moved away so some kind neighbors brought her here to find a new home. We’ve noticed that she likes to be pet, but not held too tightly. Ruby’s microchip information tells us she’s eight years old. She’ll be so grateful to whoever will take loving care of her for the rest of her life. (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
