Front Porch: Who wants chili?

Darrington Recreation &Education Foundation offers a chili feed and silent auction.

It’s 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Ave., Darrington. Organizers hope to make it an annual event.

Tickets are $3 or $10 for a family at the door.

Firefighters heat up the griddle: North County Fire/EMS offers a firefighter pancake feed Sunday.

It’s 6 to 11 a.m. at the old Bryant fire station, 26828 Highway 9 NE, Bryant.

Firefighters will cook and serve pancakes, eggs, ham, biscuits and gravy. Make a donation to the North County Fire Fighters Association.

Get some exercise, lend a hand: The sixth annual Community Green Belt Clean Up is 2 p.m. Saturday.

Meet at Woodway Elementary School, 9521 240th St. SW, Edmonds.

Pick up litter, remove bad plants and do trail maintenance.

Chirping on Camano: Learn about birds on Camano Island at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive.
