Stats: 6.5-percent ABV, 48 IBU

My thoughts: Beer makes fast friends.
Take for example Colin and Danielle Lothrop, who recently opened Toggle’s Bottleshop in Everett, and R.J. Whitlow, owner and head brewer of 5 Rights Brewing. The three met at 5 Rights’ anniversary party this past summer, and already Whitlow is brewing a special beer for their grand opening. “We went over to his garage setup and just sat and talked about our dreams,” Colin said. “We found that we have a lot in common.”
Whitlow, who is in the process of opening a new location in Lake Stevens, had been busy brewing a number of different hazy New England-style IPAs, a style of beer that intrigued both Colin and Danielle. So the Lothrops told him to get to work.
The result is this big, juicy IPA. With notes of strawberry and tropical fruit, it’s the type of cloudy IPA that is selling fast nationwide. In fact, Toggle’s has already gone through two kegs of the beer since opening last week. Whitlow made a special delivery of more Wednesday afternoon. I’d encourage anyone close to Toggle’s to get in and try it.
From the brewery: This extra special New England-style IPA uses over-the-top amounts of our favorite Down Under hops, Galaxy, Vic Secret, Nelson Sauvin and Wai-Iti, which all come together for an amazingly juicy and flavorful and aromatic delight. It’s a delicious way to say congrats to our friends and wish them many successful years of business as they help all of us better the Snohomish County craft beer scene.
