Golf tournament
Support students in Snohomish County through the fifth annual Todd Evans Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament, at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 17, at the Cedarcrest Golf Course, 6810 84th St. NE, Marysville.
Create a team for four-man scramble. If you can’t find enough players, organizers can place you in a group. Entry is $125, and includes the game, a cart, a shirt and dinner.
Mike Evans started the scholarship in 2016 in memory of his brother, Todd Evans. The grants go to graduating high school students heading to college who have been affected by mental health issues.

HEADS UP
Arlington road closure
BNSF will be repairing the railroad tracks at N. West Avenue just north of Lebanon Street on Wednesday. The road will be closed in both directions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Businesses in the area will stay open, but will need to be accessed from the north. Detours will be in place.
Blueberry season
Blueberries are ripe for the season. Spend a day picking the fruit at one of many Snohomish County farms.

Youth board
The city of Everett invites young people ages 16 to 21 to sign up for its Youth Advisory Board by Sept. 2. It hopes to form a group of 12 to 15 people.
Members will meet at least once a month for a one-year term. The goal is to ensure inclusion and representation of future community leaders. The group will give feedback to Mayor Cassie Franklin.
The first meeting is expected to be in early October at the Everett Municipal Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave. Apply online at www.everettwa.gov.

Grand opening
Elemental Hard Cider opens its doors in Arlington at noon Friday at 6015 180th St. NE.
The cider company is moving from its previous space in Woodinville. The owners are donating 15 percent of opening night proceeds to the Cascade Valley Health Foundation.
