Marysville/Tulalip Salvation Army dinner

The Marysville/Tulalip Salvation Army is hosting a fundraising dinner Thursday at the Grove Church, 4705 Grove St. in Marysville. The doors open at 5 p.m., and dinner begins at 6 p.m. There will be a silent auction following dinner. All proceeds benefit Marysville and Tulalip residents in need.

HEADS UP

Seasonal hiring for Forest Service

The U.S. Forest Service began accepting applications Monday for over 1,000 seasonal spring and summer jobs in Oregon and Washington. The deadline to apply is the end of September. Positions are available in multiple fields, including fire, recreation, natural resources, timber, engineering, visitor services and archaeology.

To find out more on how to apply for federal jobs, or to have your resume reviewed, register for a recruitment event at Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park at 319 Second Ave. S. in Seattle. The event starts at 5 p.m. Friday, but you must register to attend on eventbrite.com. Search the site for “2019 Public Lands Job Fair.”

Applications must be submitted on usajobs.gov. More information about seasonal employment, available positions and application instructions can be found at fs.usda.gov/main/r6/jobs.

STEM Summit

Register now for the Snohomish STEM Summit, hosted by Workforce Snohomish from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hotel Indigo, 1028 13th St. in Everett. Attendees will “convene with key leaders in our county and learn about our local workforce pipeline, and hear from industry experts who have vested in the development of the next generation workforce,” according to event organizers.

Tickets range from $40 to $100. Lunch will be served.

Cocaine Anonymous: A nonprofit recovery program for those seeking sobriety or support in staying sober from cocaine and other mind-altering substances. Has groups in Arlington, Edmonds, Everett, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Monroe.

Drug abuse family support: Support groups for those affected by someone else’s drug addiction meet in Arlington, Bothell, Everett and Snohomish.

Al-anon and Alateen: A support group for friends and families who have been affected by someone else’s drinking. Multiple meeting locations in Snohomish County. Find a list on the “Meeting Directory” page at dist23.org.
