Child, 3, hit and killed while playing in driveway in Snohomish

SNOHOMISH — A 3-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car in a Snohomish driveway Thursday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., Emilio Vazquez Amaya was playing in a driveway in the 15100 block of Highway 9. A vehicle hit the boy, who died at the scene, said Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe.

Previous official reports indicated the deceased was age 4. He was 3.

Detectives continued to investigate Friday morning. They don’t believe Vazquez Amaya’s death was a criminal act, O’Keefe said.
