ARLINGTON — One person was seriously injured in a crash involving two semi-trucks in Arlington on Thursday, police said.

On Thursday afternoon, a semi-truck was stopped at a light on Highway 530 near 27th Avenue NE, said Washington State Patrol trooper Jacob Kennett. Behind it was a white Chevy Silverado.

A second semi-truck rear-ended the Silverado, sending it forward into the other semi, Kennett said.

A person in the Silverado suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to the state patrol.

The crash led to a major backup on northbound I-5 and nearby roads, according to the state Department of Transportation.
