EVERETT — A teenage boy was shot to death in an Everett park early Sunday morning, police.
Around 2:30 a.m., police responded to multiple reports of gunfire at Henry M. Jackson Park, near the 1700 block of State Street.
In the covered area of the park, Everett police found a boy in his late teens with a gunshot wound, according to a news release. Officers gave medical aid, but when paramedics arrived, he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity and age had not been released as of Sunday morning.
Witnesses told police they heard rounds being fired and “multiple vehicles were said to have fled the scene prior to police arrival,” according to the department.
“Officers initiated a K9 track to search for any suspects that may have fled on foot, none were located,” police wrote.
“Numerous” shell casings were discovered around the park.
Detectives believe the victim and the suspects were known to each other.
The identity of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be confirmed by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
