Does Guinea’s authoritarianism sound familiar?

I read the following recently extract about the president of Guinea in West Africa. It sounds dreadfully familiar.
“For example, (Mamaday) Doumbouya cracked down on freedom of the press, expression, association, and political dissidents. Enforced disappearances, once rare in the country, are now becoming increasingly common.”
