MARYSVILLE — A shooting in Marysville on June 1 involved a group of people trying to rob a drug dealer, according to new documents released Friday.
The group included a half-dozen suspects, documents show. They told the dealer, who is from the Marysville area, they wanted to buy $1,300 worth of heroin, according to arrest reports. The dealer or someone with him had a gun. The dealer claimed that someone among the robbers also was armed during the confrontation.
Gunfire was reported about 2:45 a.m. outside the Wishing Well apartments along 88th Street NE.
A 39-year-old Kent man who allegedly was in on the robbery was shot three times in the neck and back. Police allege he had a knife when they found him injured on the ground. He was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He remained a patient there on Friday, according to police. He has not been able to speak with detectives due to the extent of his injuries.
Two others from the group, a boyfriend and girlfriend, were arrested Thursday night on suspicion of assault and robbery. Both are in their 20s and from south King County. Some in the group reportedly had been smoking methamphetamine before the robbery.
It is not clear from the available records if police have identified the shooter or whether that person is expected to face charges.
The investigation is ongoing, Cmdr. Mark Thomas said.
