Mariner 61, Jackson 13

EVERETT — The Marauders bounced back from their first defeat of the season in a big way as they blew past the Timberwolves in the Wesco 4A encounter.

Cartez Williams scored three of his four rushing touchdowns in the first half and piled up 275 yards rushing as Mariner (1-1 league, 5-1 overall), which lost to top-ranked 4A school Glacier Peak last week, raced to a 49-0 lead late in the second quarter.

Isaiah Cuellar threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more, while Tayveon Sy, Macky James and Damien Bagley also scored TDs for Mariner. James had a team-high 98 yards on two receptions.

Cole Truant returned a kickoff 92 yards for a score and Mohammed Al Ezairej threw a TD pass to lead Jackson (0-2, 0-6).

WESCO 3A NORTH

Arlington 44, Marysville Pilchuck 23

MARYSVILLE — The Eagles took control of the race for third place in Wesco 3A North with the victory over the Tomahawks. Arlington moved to 3-2 in league and 4-2 overall, one game ahead of Marysville Pilchuck (2-3, 3-3) while remaining a game-and-a-half behind Stanwood and Ferndale.

Ferndale 49, Marysville Getchell 7

FERNDALE — The Chargers were unable to play spoiler in the Wesco 3A North game against the Golden Eagles. With the victory Ferndale (4-0 league, 4-2 overall) moved into a first-place tie with Stanwood. Marysville Getchell dropped to 1-3, 1-5.

Arion Palacol threw a TD pass to Marcus Milham for the Chargers’ lone score.

WESCO 3A SOUTH

Edmonds-Woodway 47, Shorecrest 14

SHORELINE — The Warriors pulled away in the second quarter to defeat the Scots in the Wesco 3A South game.

Shorecrest scored first and still lead 8-7 late in the first quarter. But Edmonds-Woodway took the lead late in the first, then scored three quick-fire TDs in the second quarter to build a 34-8 halftime advantage.

Warriors quarterback Steven Warren Jr. was 16-for-27 for 224 yards, throwing touchdown passes to Jesse Hart III, Diego Escandon and David Danyo. Liam Fitting and Rashaad Gerona-Chatters scored rushing touchdowns, and Pablo Ferreira-Hernandez returned a blocked punt for a TD for Edmonds-Woodway (3-1 league, 3-3 overall).

Escandon reeled in a team-best six receptions for 91 yards and Fitting had 81 total yards of offense on 11 touches.

Ramy Abdalla rushed 25 times for 151 yards and both scores for Shorecrest (0-4, 1-5).

Monroe 62, Shorewood 8

MONROE — The Bearcats’ high-powered offense kept rolling as Monroe raced past the Stormrays in the Wesco 3A South game.

Blake Springer was 13-for-18 for 175 yards and three touchdowns, and Beau Pruett carried 12 times for 209 yards and three scores as Monroe (4-0 league, 6-0 overall) moved into a first-place tie with Snohomish atop Wesco 3A South. Biggie Notoa added an interception return for a touchdown for the Bearcats, while Carl Watson III, Nick Mouser, Kody Edelbrock and Trent Bublitz also found the end zone for Monroe, which broke the 60-point barrier for the second time in three weeks.

Shorewood (1-4, 2-4) was led by Rory Swanson, who rushed seven times for 55 yards and a score.

Mountlake Terrace 20, Lynnwood 19

EDMONDS — The Hawks scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, then stopped the Royals on a late two-point attempt to hang on for the Wesco 3A South victory.

Zaveon Jones had 130 yards and two TDs on 25 carries and Logan Tews hauled in four receptions for 65 yards and a score for Mountlake Terrace (3-2 league, 4-2 overall).

Lynnwood fell to 0-6, 0-5.

NON-LEAGUE

Cedarcrest 25, Meadowdale 0

EDMONDS — The Red Wolves remained perfect with the non-league shutout against the Mavericks. Cedarcrest is 6-0, Meadowdale is 1-5.

Lake Stevens 41, Eastlake 16

LAKE STEVENS — Jayden Limar returned from injury with a vengeance as the star running back scored five touchdowns to lead the Vikings over the Wolves in a rematch of last year’s Class 4A state semifinals.

Limar suffered his injury during Lake Stevens’ loss when it traveled to West Linn, Oregon, two weeks ago. But he was back Friday and his running, which included a spectacular 81-yard TD run, carried the Vikings in the non-league game.

David Brown added a touchdown reception from Kolton Matson for Lake Stevens (4-2), which is ranked No. 5 in the 4A state poll.

Grady Woodward caught a touchdown pass and Blake Borup ran for a score for 10th-ranked Eastlake (4-2).

Liberty 49, Snohomish 19

SNOHOMISH — The Patriots’ offense controlled the game both through the air and on the ground, racking up 520 yards en route to the non-league victory over the Panthers.

Snohomish (4-2) was right in the game when Kyle Larsen broke free for a 50-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second half to cut Liberty’s lead to 21-13. But the Patriots answered with three straight touchdowns to take command.

Nathan Dehnert ran for three touchdowns, Jackson Moffitt added two scores — one in the air and one on the ground — and Rohne Klein threw for 249 yards to lead Liberty (4-2).

Larsen finished with 156 yards on 21 carries, while Mason Orgill and Kale Hammer added running TDs for the Panthers.

Cascade 55, Everett 14

EVERETT — The Bruins ran wild as they captured the Battle of Broadway in a big way against the archrival Seagulls in a non-league contest.

Julian Thomas ran for four touchdowns, while Charile Nelson and Jacob Del Castillo added TD runs for the Bruins, who kept their perfect season intact in improving to 6-0. Eric Sowards added a pair of touchdown passes to Devin Gilbert for Cascade.

Josh Smith ran 29 times for 161 yards and a touchdown, and Emiliano Velasquez added a touchdown to lead Everett (1-5).

Stanwood 69, Union 47

CAMAS — The Spartans’ wing-T offense was unstoppable, scoring touchdowns on each of its first nine possessions, and Stanwood made a huge statement by going on the road to beat a traditional Class 4A state power in the non-league game.

Carson Beckt scored four first-half touchdowns — three by rush, one on a reception from Michael Mascotti — as Stanwood (6-0) built at 35-14 second-quarter lead. Then in the second half it was Ryder Bumgarner who took over, running for three of his four TDs after the Titans pulled within 42-33 early in the third quarter. Beckt also scored on an 80-yard interception return in the fourth quarter to give him a five-score game.

Bumgarner finished with a team-high 272 yards on 20 carries and Beckt had 205 yards of offense on eight touches.

Cody Zehner ran for two touchdowns to lead Union (2-4).

NORTHWEST CONFERENCE

Lynden 49, Archbishop Murphy 24

LYNDEN — The Wildcats were no match for the undefeated Lions in the Northwest Conference game, as the state’s top-ranked 2A team built a 49-0 halftime lead.

Kai Lewis was 9-for-16 for 180 yards and three touchdowns for Archbishop Murphy. Two of those TDs went to Diontaye Moorman, including a 79-yarder, while Jonah Wilson caught the other score.

Archbishop Murphy fell to 0-4 in league and 0-5 overall, Lynden improved to 4-0, 6-0.

Squalicum 35, Lakewood 12

BELLINGHAM — Bakary Sonko had a rushing TD and Porter Espe connected on a 23-yard TD pass with Mason McClellan, but the Cougars fell to the Storm in a Northwest Conference matchup.

Sonko had 98 yards of offense on 11 touches and Benjamin Nuss added 92 yards on eight touches for Lakewood (1-3 league, 2-4 overall).

Squalicum improved to 3-1, 4-2.

SHORELINE — The Turks fell to 1-1 in league and 3-3 overall with the Emerald Sound Conference loss to the Knights (1-0, 5-1). Derek Feltner ran 13 times for 52 yards to pace Sultan.

DARRINGTON — The Loggers suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of the Red Devils in the Northwest 1B game. Darrington fell to 2-1 in league and 5-1 overall. Neah Bay improved to 2-0, 5-0.

Glacier Peak 47, Kamiak 22

MUKILTEO — River Lien linked up with Trey Leckner for three of his six touchdown passes as the Grizzlies cruised to a Wesco 4A win over the Knights.

Roman Foster added a score on the ground, and Ryan King, Gabe Russel and Tyler Kinney all scored receiving TDs for Glacier Peak (2-0 league, 5-1 overall). Lien completed 19-of-20 passes for 313 yards, King had a team-high 107 yards rushing and Leckner added 96 yards on six receptions.

Ben’Tre Worthy threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to T’andre Waverly and a 7-yard score to Jullian Notoa, and Miles Moffett added a late rushing touchdown for Kamiak (0-1, 1-5). Waverly finished with a team-best 81 yards on four receptions.
