Herald’s delivery change won’t go well for paper

Published 1:30 am Sunday, January 8, 2023

I can see the writing on the wall. The Daily Herald’s latest maneuver is a last ditch effort to survive.

I for one won’t sit in front of a computer screen at breakfast reading the news. And by the time the U.S. Postal Service has delivered the paper in late afternoon, I won’t be around and would have lost interest anyway.

I suppose some people will give it a try for a few months but they’ll tire of it eventually and then subscriptions will dwindle and so “Good night, Herald.” A great shame but, as with a lot of older revered institutions, it will succumb to the pressure of our digitized world and disappear.
