USPS worker shot in south Everett, police say

EVERETT — A United States Postal Service worker was shot on Friday afternoon near a south Everett apartment, Everett police said.

Police alleged that a package delivery driver shot the postal worker shortly before 1 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex near the Everett Mall, the department wrote in a Facebook post. The postal worker was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett to treat the gunshot wound. The worker’s condition was not immediately disclosed.

The suspect is in custody, and there is no danger to the public, the post read. The investigation is ongoing.
