The Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation teamed up with country music artist Matt Stillwell to bring the LIDS Badges for Baseball tour to Everett on July 2. The Badges for Baseball clinic at the Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish County’s Gaffney Field in Everett also involved Everett Police officers, who served as coaches.

More than 125 kids from area Boys & Girls Clubs learned quickball, baseball, softball and various sport-specific skills. Participants received tickets to the July 3 Seattle Mariners game.

Badges for Baseball aims to prevent juvenile crime by pairing law enforcement officers and at-risk youths to play and learn.
