Students of Bellevue Elementary School took a dual purpose trip. They rode the Great Northern’s streamlined International train to Everett where they disembarked at the mission-style depot. From there they visited the waterfront with its two huge pulp mills. Web Thornberry, manager of the Everett Chamber of Commerce, noted points of interest in the harbor.
Pearl White installed officers of Machias-Forest Glade Homemakers Demonstration Club in a candlelight ceremony at the home of Clara Lehl. The new officers were June Crane, Lucille Conderman, Agnes Funk and Lorena Ewing.
Alumina dust pollution on Rucker Hill was to be discussed at a public meeting. Sponsored by the Bayside Concerned Citizens, the session would be at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2913 Norton Ave. Port of Everett executive director John Belford said he and two staff members would provide fresh information for the group after a meeting with Anaconda Co.
The annual Wesleyan Festival Bazaar and Luncheon would follow the theme "Olde English Christmas" at the First United Methodist Church at 36th Street and Colby Avenue. Holiday decor would be seed and bean flower arrangements.
