Season over for Padres’ Worrell

San Diego Padres right-hander Mark Worrell will undergo surgery on his pitching elbow and is expected to miss the entire season.
The Padres announced that the 25-year-old Worrell is scheduled for an operation Wednesday. Worrell made his major league debut with the St. Louis Cardinals last season, going 0-1 with a 7.94 ERA (five earned runs, 5.2 innings) in four relief appearances.
