Risks of drug abuse
The Mukilteo Police Department is set to host a community forum on the risks of drug abuse, 6 to 8 p.m. March 10 at Mukilteo City Hall, 11930 Cyrus Way.
Health educator Shanie McLaren from Providence Health & Services will be the guest speaker. She’s worked in the birth and family education department, and has been the education and program coordinator since joining Providence in 2002.

Coffee with Terrace officials
Join Mountlake Terrace officials for a cup of coffee to learn what’s happening in the city from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Recreation Pavilion, 5303 228th St. SW.
Attendees may ask questions, provide input or just listen to the conversation. The informal setting provides an opportunity to get involved and learn more about city government.

Rep. Rick Larsen coming to Brier
Join U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen Saturday in Brier for a cup of coffee and a discussion about issues that matter to you.
Larsen will take questions from constituents and update the audience on Congress’ progress with its “For the People” agenda, according to a news release.
The event is scheduled from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Brier City Hall, 2901 228th St SW.
This will be Larsen’s sixth community coffee talk of the year.
The Lynnwood Fly Fishing Show
Rods, reels, boots, waders and more will be on sale at the Lynnwood Fly Fishing Show this weekend.
The two-day event runs Saturday and Sunday at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St SW. Doors open both days at 9 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $15 for one day and $25 for both. Children 5 and younger are free, as are Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts 16 and younger and in uniform. Children 6 to 12 are $5.
The Northwest premiere for the 2020 International Fly-fishing Film Festival is Saturday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Edmonds CC aerospace conference
Students with an interest in rocket science may take part in the free Washington State Aerospace Collegiate Conference on Feb. 15 at Edmonds Community College.
Blue Origin engineers Erin Evans, Anna Jensen and Samantha Westall are scheduled to give the keynote address.
Edmonds Community College offers on-campus engineering programs for students interested in aerospace careers. Another option is the Washington Aerospace Training and Research Center at Paine Field, where students learn the skills required for an aerospace job in 12 weeks.
The conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Woodway Hall, room 202, 20200 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Students may register online at edcc.edu/WASACC.

Conservation District holding board election
On Tuesday, Feb. 18, the Snohomish Conservation District will hold a poll-site election for a board seat at its office at 528 91st Ave. NE, Suite A, Lake Stevens. Polls will open at 12 p.m. and close at 4 p.m.
