EVERETT — Backpacks and school supplies will be given away Saturday at Mariner Fest, a community resource fair in Everett.

The fourth annual Mariner Fest, presented by Project Girl Mentoring Group, Everett Housing Authority and Sno-Isle Libraries, will take place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mariner High School, 200 120th St. SW, in Everett.

During the event, Project Girl will give away backpacks and school supplies to the first 1,200 registered students grades K-12.

Mariner Fest offers free food, games, music and other family-friendly activities. Author Dr. Margaret Towolawi will discuss her children’s books, including an alphabetically organized plant-based nutrition guide.

The community can also connect with local agencies, including Community Transit, Everett Chamber of Commerce, King County Public Health and Kutz for Kids.
