Terrace jumps on Everett

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE – Mountlake Terrace, coming off just its second Wesco South loss, wasted little time getting back in the win column.

The Hawks broke open Tuesday’s 73-26 win over Everett with a 12-0 run in the second quarter. The spurt expanded a three-point lead to 15.

The win clinched a 4A District 1 playoff berth for the Hawks, who sank nine 3-point goals. Leading scorer Christiaan Hammond had four among his 24 points.

Mariner 73, Shorecrest 51: Mariner jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter of the Wesco South contest. The Marauders’ Tommy Craddock scored a game-high 22 points. Tim Franklin scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Scots.

Lakewood 60, South Whidbey 58: Lakewood led 35-22 at halftime, but South Whidbey fought back to take the lead in the fourth quarter of the Cascade Conference game. Anthony Wiederkehr scored eight of his game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter and Anthony Savage sank two free throws with five seconds left to seal the victory for the Cougars.

Archbishop Murphy 60, Sultan 57: With the score tied 57-57 and 10 seconds remaining in the Cascade Conference game, Mark Leone sank one of his six 3-pointers to put Archbishop Murphy ahead by three. Sultan’s Beau Champeaux missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Chris Mitchell had a double-double, adding 12 rebounds to his 10 points. R.J. Perkins led the Turks with 17 points.

Granite Falls 78, Cedarcrest 72: Cedarcrest led by 18 points at the half, but Granite Falls pulled to within 12 at the end of the third quarter and outscored the Wolves 26-8 in the final period to get the Cascade Conference victory. Josh Knudson scored 22 points to lead the Tigers. Cedarcrest’s Nick Ritter scored a game-high 23 points.
