MOUNT VERNON – The Snohomish boys basketball team used a balanced offense and a career scoring night by a senior guard to take down Mount Vernon 83-76 to remain atop the Western Conference North Division at Mount Vernon High School Friday night.
The Panthers’ Seth Follis was 11-for-16 from the field to finish with 28 points, including five 3-pointers to spark the offense. Follis put the game away in the third quarter, hitting three from behind the arc to put Snohomish up for good.
“He definitely was a big part of what we were doing,” Panthers coach Len Bone said of Follis.
Snohomish finished with five players in double figures. In addition to Follis, Nate VanDuine scored 14, Zach Wilde had 13, Tim Diederichs had 12 and Josh Desimone added 10.
“We shared the ball well and different guys had opportunities and took advantage of what opportunities they had,” Bone said.
Bulldogs forward Mike Knight battled hard, scoring 23 points. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and teammate Jeremy Juarez had 20 points.
Snohomish (8-1 in division, 12-1 overall) will look to avenge its only loss of the season when it hosts Marysville-Pilchuck (6-3, 10-3) Tuesday.
