Free throws boost Kamiak

EVERETT — Disciplined basketball was the name of the game for the Kamiak Knights Friday night at Everett High School.

Kamiak hit 20 out of 26 free throws to help take a 62-53 non-league victory over Everett.

“Kamiak played very disciplined on both the offensive and defensive side of the game,” Everett coach Aaron Nation said. “They were a little more physical than us and took advantage of what was given to them.”

Kamiak’s height and post play help provide the difference as 6-foot Justin Glenn scored 16 points, 6-4 Andrew Dremlyuga had 14, 6-1 Sam Ruppel had 11 and 6-4 Skyler Stormo added 10 to spark the Knights’ offense.

Flynn Mattson scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the third quarter but was held to four points in the final period by the Knights defense.

“They really get after you,” Nations said of the Kamiak defense.
