Tony Heard is still a junior but he’s already received a football scholarship offer from a Pac-10 team.
The University of Washington recently offered a scholarship to Heard, a star running back/linebacker from Edmonds-Woodway, E-W head football coach John Gradwohl said this afternoon.
Heard, who didn’t verbally commit to Washington, has also received interest from Stanford University and Oregon State University. Heard wants to wait and see what will be the best fit, said Gradwohl.
This past football season the 6-foot, 225-pound Heard rushed for 2,238 yards and 31 touchdowns. He was named The Herald’s 2007 All-Area Offensive Football Player of the Year, Associated Press Class 4A co-player of the year and 2007-2008 Gatorade Washington Football Player of the Year.
This spring Heard is trying to improve his speed by running for E-W’s track team, Gradwohl said.
