A teenager pretended to be pregnant. She was lying. The Herald made it a front page story with a big headline. This story isn’t newsworthy. The real news story is this: Why should a teenager be rewarded for telling a lie by being given space on the front page? Are you pandering to teenagers in an effort to attract younger readers? Putting this kind of story on the front page tells us something about the state of newspapers today and it’s not good news.
