MONROE, Wash. — Supermoto racing is coming to Evergreen Speedway.
The XTRM Sports Network announced in late May that the inaugural season of its Supermoto Series will open on July 5 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash.
The event, which will be televised on the SPEED channel, will also double as a qualification round for non-seeded riders hoping to compete in ESPN’s Summer X Games, which take place in Los Angeles on August 1-2.
The new XTRM AMA Supermoto National Championship Presented by Parts Unlimited, features the Yamaha, Honda, Aprilla, and KTM factory SuperMoto teams as well as a host of new and existing teams and racing stars competing for top honors in the Premier 450 Supermoto class, the Unlimited Supermoto class, and the 250cc Supermoto Lites class.
“We’re proud to be bringing the AMA XTRM Supermoto National Championship Series to everyone,” said XTRM senior director of business development Myron Short in a press release. “We’ve undertaken to manage and package this series together with six hours of SPEED TV broadcasting and an entirely unique set of online fan and racer services at www.xtrm.com.”
The XTRM Sports Network takes advantage of the latest online technology to bring together fans, racers, promoters, and advertisers using a powerful social network and transaction platform.
To accommodate the supermoto racers, the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events scheduled for July 4 and the one-eighth mile streets drags on July 5 have been canceled.
New partnership announced by Evergreen Speedway: N C Machinery and Evergreen Speedway will team up this season, with the official regional Caterpiller dealer becoming a track sponsor and title sponsor of the Whelen All-American Series 125-lap super stock race during the Washington 500 on July 26.
Additionally, there will be an N C Machinery Night At the Races on Saturday, July 12 at the Monroe, Wash., speedway.
