Windows broken at Lynnwood parking lot

LYNNWOOD -- About 20 vehicles had windows smashed at a Lynnwood park-and-ride Sunday night or Monday morning.

The vandalism was first reported to police about 6 a.m. Monday at the Ash Way park-and-ride between I-5 and 164th Street SW, said Tom Pearce, a spokesman for Community Transit.

The person or people responsible apparently wiped dew off the vehicles' windows hunting for property inside, Pearce said.

Several windows were smashed, and shattered glass and stolen property littered the parking lot.

Snohomish County sheriff's detectives will examine surveillance video to see if they can develop suspect information.

Not all the news was bad. During the investigation Monday, deputies recovered one stolen car, Pearce said.

Officials said it's never a good idea to leave valuables in unattended vehicles.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
