LYNNWOOD — Four Lynnwood-area youths were questioned in connection with a fire Sunday night that caused more than $88,000 damage to an abandoned home.
The fire was reported just before 7 p.m. in the 3200 block of 148th Street SW, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
When crews arrived, the flames had spread into the attic and were eating away at the roof, she said. Firefighters battled the blaze from outside the single-story house.
It took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control, Hynes said. The home was destroyed.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office determined the blaze was intentionally set.
Two girls and two boys, ages 12 and 13, were questioned by officials and then released to their parents, said Mike Makela, a deputy fire marshal. The case will be forwarded to the Snohomish County prosecutor’s office.
