TULALIP – For the third day in a row, a gray whale was seen stranded at low tide this morning, this time in Tulalip Bay.
Dozens gathered at the Tulalip Tribal Center to see how the whale is doing. Some people tried to help the whale, pouring water on its back and covered it with wet towels.
As the tide began to come in, the whale was able to venture further into the bay, with just the top of its back emerging from the water from time to time.
The whale was seen on Thursday and Friday off Harborview Park in Everett. Marine biologists say the animal is emaciated and may die.
