Olive Garden plans new restaurant in Tulalip

TULALIP -- The Tulalip Tribes are adding an Olive Garden Restaurant to its business center in Quil Ceda Village.

Construction has begun on the restaurant at 10326 34th Ave. NE, just south of the McDonald's restaurant and the Seattle Premium Outlets near the tribal casino.

Heidi Schauer, manager of media and communications for Olive Garden, acknowledged the new location and said the restaurant would be completed in mid-January.

She said she didn't have any other information available immediately on the restaurant or employment opportunities.

On its website, Dodge Projects said the restaurant would be about 7,500 square feet and would be valued at about $3 million.

A sign on the construction site labels it as the location of a new Olive Garden. On its website, the Tulalip Tribes has asked for bids on utilities work for the restaurant project.

Tulalip Tribal Chairman Mel Sheldon had said earlier that the tribal confederation was working to bring another restaurant to the area.

No one was available Wednesday to provide more information on the project.
