UW's Dennison questionable for Nebraska game

SEATTLE -- Two days before the first big test of the season, the University of Washington football team found out it might be missing a key member of its defense.

Junior linebacker Cort Dennison sat out Thursday's practice due to illness, and coach Steve Sarkisian said he could "potentially" miss the Nebraska game.

Dennison attended the practice but did not participate.

"He's a little under the weather," Sarkisian said.

Asked whether Dennison was in danger of missing Saturday's game, Sarkisian said: "I don't think so. Potentially. He's not feeling well."

True freshman Garret Gilliland is Dennison's backup and would start Saturday if the junior is unable to play.
