Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary looks at the numbers of Driving Under the Influence arrests over the Halloween weekend with a certain amount of satisfaction.
Troopers in the region stopped 744 vehicles from Friday through the weekend.
Fifty-two suspected impaired drivers were arrested from the Snohomish-King County line to the Canadian border.
In Snohomish County alone, troopers arrested 34 suspected impaired drivers.
The most important number to Leary was zero.
“We did not have any fatal or serious injuries collisions as a result,” Leary said. “This was our goal and we achieved it.”
Drunk drivers beware. Troopers in region plan on having weekend emphasis patrols though the beginning of 2011
