Allied Employers grocery stores reached a tentative agreement with the United Food and Commercial Workers Locals 21 and 81 and Teamsters Local 38 just before midnight Saturday, possibly avoiding a Thanksgiving week grocery workers’ strike.

Details of the agreement won’t be released until after the grocery store workers vote on the offer, according the UFCW 21 website. Union members will be told the dates, times and locations where they can vote on the offer as soon as meetings are scheduled, the website said.

Allied Employers represents Safeway, Albertsons, QFC and Fred Meyer.

Workers from across Snohomish, King and Kitsap counties previously voted to reject employers’ proposals to cut pay and benefits, and to authorize a strike.
