EVERETT — A 37-year-old Everett man died Monday night after suffering multiple stab wounds.
Around 5:30 p.m., neighbors called 911 after hearing the man scream for help outside Madison Elementary School on Pecks Drive, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Police and medic crews made it to the scene in under a minute, Goetz said. They found the man unconscious in the school’s west parking lot. They began CPR until the man could be taken to a local hospital, where he died several hours later.
The police investigation was under way Monday night, Goetz said. Detectives with the major crimes unit were on scene collecting evidence and talking to witnesses. Several surrounding blocks were shut down as part of the investigation.
Witnesses at the scene had limited information, Goetz said. No suspects or motive had been established Monday night.
Police don’t believe the stabbing had any connection to the school.
They urge anyone with information to call the Everett police tip line at 425-257-8450.
