Deputy arrested after alleged assault
MARYSVILLE An off-duty Snohomish County sheriffs deputy was arrested late Friday for investigation of second-degree domestic violence assault.
The deputy, 35, was booked into jail in Marysville, where he was being held without bail Saturday evening, sheriffs Lt. Steve Dittoe wrote in a press release.
The deputys name was not released. He has worked for the county for four years.
It was unclear Saturday what relationship the deputy has with the alleged victim. It also wasnt clear if anyone was hospitalized as a result of the incident. Second-degree domestic violence assault is a felony.
He has not been charged with a crime.
The deputy was immediately placed on paid administrative leave while detectives investigate the allegations against him. Meanwhile sheriffs officials expect to conduct an internal investigation to determine if any department policies were violated.
The sheriffs office became aware of the incident after receiving a complaint on Friday from a third party, Dittoe wrote.
Sheriffs deputies investigated the allegations because the incident reportedly occurred in unincorporated Snohomish County, according to the release.
No other details about the incident were released on Saturday.
