LYNNWOOD — Meadowdale rode a balanced offense in a 63-40 Wesco 3A over Lynnwood on Thursday night at Lynnwood High School.
The Mavericks locked up a spot in the 3A District 1 playoffs with the 23-point win as 6-foot-4 senior post Dylan Buck had a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds for Meadowdale (8-2 league, 10-6 overall).
“I thought we did a nice job of attacking their zone,” Meadowdale head coach Chad McGuire said. “We were able to get some inside points and attack them inside out.”
Buck was a major key inside for the Mavericks.
“He’s a guy we rely on to score inside,” McGuire said. “He had a great game all the way around.”
Guard Spencer Linton added 12 points and forward Sean Hennessey had nine points for Meadowdale, which held Lynnwood (1-10, 2-14) to just 19 second-half points.
Jason Shaw and Dustin Bowman had 10 points each for the Royals.
“(Assistant coach Dean) Wiley had a great defensive plan,” McGuire said. “We just mixed defense throughout the game.”
